The country's budget directly depends on natural resources and the uninterrupted operation of these industries. This opinion was voiced by the Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Ecology, Dmitry Kobylkin, commenting on the parameters of the draft three-year federal budget.
“Almost half of the federal budget revenues come from natural resources, such as oil, gas, coal and precious metals. Therefore, in all government programs it is important to pay special attention to the uninterrupted operation of these sectors of the economy. In times of global economic instability, this is the most important component of the sustainability of the social well-being of citizens. We will fully provide for the country's internal needs. Significant development projects will be the construction of the Power of Siberia - 2 gas pipeline, gasification of Russian regions, creation of LNG infrastructure in Kamchatka, and activation of the Northern Sea Route. And here, synchronization of work on the exploration of natural resources and uninterrupted access to publicly available minerals will play an important role,” said Kobylkin.
He noted that simply going with the flow is not enough. It is necessary to define clear goals, gather professional personnel to achieve them, and comply with work deadlines. This is the only way to avoid stagnation and enter a new development trajectory.
A meeting of the State Duma Committee on Ecology, Natural Resources and Environmental Protection is scheduled for October 7. During the meeting, the projects “On the federal budget for 2023 and for the planning period of 2024 and 2025” will be considered.
